Throbbing pain on one side of the head may be accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Often pain is preceded by vision disturbances called an aura.

Very severe pain around or behind one eye that occurs mostly at night. Eye tearing and nasal congestion may accompany pain.  Headaches occur in clusters or groups lasting for days, weeks or months at a time and then disappear for a period of time.

Steady, aching pain affecting both sides of the head accompanied by tightness or pressure around the head and neck. These headaches may be chronic, occurring frequently or every day.
